At Champagne Smiles, leading-edge New Jersey cosmetic dentist Dr. Richard Champagne is often able to provide same-day cosmetic dentistry treatments, including the placement of porcelain veneers and crowns, so patients do not feel uncomfortable or embarrassed while waiting for a crown or their veneers to be manufactured.
Introducing Same-Day Cosmetic Dentistry in New Jersey
Traditionally, patients undergoing restorative dental treatment had to visit the dental office several times before their cosmetic restoration treatment was completed, and they usually had to wear temporary restoration devices in the meantime. Richard Champagne, DMD, MAGD, and his team understand that the interim period between preparing the teeth for restoration treatment and receiving the crown, veneer or other restoration device can be embarrassing or uncomfortable for patients.
Now, however, patients who visit Champagne Smiles have another, more convenient option: same-day cosmetic dentistry. Thanks to advanced computer technology, namely a chair-side E4D CAD/CAM system, Dr. Champagne is often able to offer his patients same-day treatment for the placements of veneers, crowns and other types of restorations. This effective new method cuts down the amount of time that patients must take out of their busy schedules to visit the dentist. It also eliminates the need for goopy impression materials that make many people gag, as well as the embarrassment often associated with wearing temporary restorations.
How Does It Work?
To start same-day restoration treatment, the Champagne Smiles dentist captures images of the inside of the patient’s mouth using the E4D intraoral scanner. Employing CAD/CAM technology, Dr. Champagne uses these images to generate a digital design of the veneer, crown, inlay/onlay or other restoration. The team at Champagne Smiles can then customize the restoration to match the patient’s distinct tooth anatomy, so it seamlessly blends in with the neighboring teeth. Next, the restoration is precisely milled with an in-office machine. In the final step of the process, the New Jersey cosmetic dentist places the veneer, crown or other restoration and makes any necessary adjustments to ensure a proper fit.
